AI COMPETITIONS
FOR STUDENTS

At Coding & More we encourage and mentor students to participate in global AI competitions especially those with a focus on ‘AI for Good’. This provides students with an opportunity to enhance their learning by applying the knowledge and skills acquired during the AI education programs to solve real world problems. Students not only learn key AI and coding concepts but also teamwork, communication, design and presentation.

WORLD AI COMPETITION FOR YOUTH (WAICY)

Coding & More has been an official ‘India partner’ of the WAICY. Our students regularly participate in the annual WAICY competition. Several of them have won awards in the junior, middle and senior categories.

TECHNOVATION GIRLS

Technovation Girls is a prestigious platform that offers our girl students an opportunity to showcase their learning in AI & Coding. The rigorous mandate of applying design thinking, to identifying a problem aligned to the UNSDG’s to solving using AI & coding skills to developing a business plan for solution feasibility is a great practice ground for our students. Coding & More provides our students an opportunity to participate and we mentor our students through the complete cycle. In the past years, all our teams have been shortlisted as either quarter or semi finalists with a team winning the Beginner category (under 13 years).

MICROSOFT IMAGINE CUP JUNIOR

First Runners Up of Microsoft Imagine Cup Junior 2022, INDIA. Watch the winning pitch by Nyah Bhat and Vir Gogia for their AI Project: Team DoctRobot-TRR 22 that solves for AI for Good Initiative on Humanitarian Action. Their project concept is an AI powered robot that detects burns and other injuries of children in refugee camps and connects them to a doctor, to expedite the treatment.

GIRLS IN AI HACKATHON

Coding and More, in collaboration with Teens in AI, France, hosted the first global AI hackathon for teenagers in India – Girls in AI India 2021 to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th 2021. Students attended live workshops from industry experts and then worked on AI solutions to help tackle one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our team won the global best Technical project in 2021. We also hosted the Ada Lovelace and  GirlsinAI2022 hackathon in 2021 and 2022 respectively. 

Apps for Good

Our student, Pranet Hiranandani’s project ‘Valuable Trash’ used image classification to create an AI mobile app to motivate people to recycle and incentivise them to build a community.

ISTE Intel AI Challenge

Our student, Vedant Patodia’s project Readify harnessed the power of generative AI tools to create a web application to enable children to generate picture books on topics of their interest. The intent was to promote literacy and attention spans among children.
